A few months ago, I was contacted by a former customer to see if I was interested in possibly donating a BobbleDugout to the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation to be auctioned at their 2016 Dream Foundation Gala. After roughly 2 seconds, I said, “YES!” What an honor it would be to be able to help “improve the lives of children and teens in the Washington, D.C. region by supporting initiatives focused on academics, the arts, nutrition and sports.” I like kids, academics are so necessary, creativity and the arts are clearly important to me, and I grew up playing sports so it was really a no brainer.
Earlier in June, the Dream Foundation hosted their annual gala which included a silent auction where the winning bid for my custom Dream Foundation BobbleDugout was $1000. I’m so excited and honored to have been able to work with the Foundation and help such a great cause.
The Dream Foundation partners with the District Government, Children’s NationalMedical Center, among others to support the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy fostering positive character development, academic achievement and improved health among at-risk Washington, D.C., the Washington Nationals Diabetes Care Complex Children’s National Medical Center helping children with diabetes and their families, The Neighborhood Initiative helping the neighborhoods of Southeast/Southwest DC, and the Washington Nationals Miracle Field giving children with mental/physical challenges a place to play baseball safely.
