When I built the first BobbleDugout, I thought it was pretty cool. I didn’t have the proper tools so it was a little crooked in places and corners may not have lined up perfectly, but it turned out pretty well. When I showed my friends, they wanted one… And just like that, BobbleHouse Industries was born.
Over the past year, I have purchased the proper tools, machines, built a shop (reorganized the garage), and am fine tuning production every day. I don’t have a background in woodworking (minus 8th grade shop class) but have figured it out on the fly… and still am! I am a perfectionist at heart which slows me down at times and can be frustrating as well, but my name is on every BobbleHouse product that leaves my shop and I try my best to not let things I wouldn’t happily put on my shelf leave the shop. If you follow me on Twitter or on Facebook, you’ve seen the Quality Control Manager throw imperfect BobbleHouses in the trash (I hate when that happens).
It has truly been a learning experience but most importantly, it has been fun! I love working with my hands, creating and building things from scratch, and always learning better ways to do things. Well, it seems that my hard work has paid off because very recently, I was asked to build a personalized BobbleDugout for the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee, WI (BobbleheadHall.com). It has been a great experience working with the guys over there and can’t wait to get over there for a visit. Thanks again guys for this opportunity.
It’s a very exciting time here at BobbleHouse Industries and want to thank everybody for your support and kind words. If you’re in the area, Bobble on over to the Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum and have a look around.
